Study Tip: For me, Midwinter was the event in my Quizzing career where it all started to click. I began to understand WHY I was quizzing, and it served as a jumping-off point to become a better quizzer. You can do the same thing. If you have not been one of our top quizzers to date, use what you have learned now to dedicate yourself to studying for the rest of the year. There is still time to learn enough chapters to be effective, and to use the coming review weeks to brush up your skills on past chapters. You can still be a key player for our team.

If it snows on Friday, that may be a special chance to sit down with your scripture portion and learn, learn, learn!

Remember, Midwinter is this coming weekend, and we need to be ready for all of the questions they'll have there which will include John 12.

So, please make sure you are ready. If you need to, take a few minutes before or after school to review the material.

Snow & the Bible

In this season of falling flakes, it is inevitable that snow is on our minds. So, what does the Bible have to say about snow? You might be surprised how often snow is mentioned, and how varied is its use in scripture.
Snow in reference to Jesus Christ has to do with His glory. Already in the event known as the Transfiguration (Mk 9:3), we read that his garments were shining, exceeding white as snow. In the resurrection story in Matthew 28:3 the appearance of the angel was like lightning and his clothes were white as snow. In the last book of the Bible John sees Jesus in this way: His head and hair were white like wool, as white as snow, and his eyes were like blazing fire. John tells us that when he saw the Lord in all his glory he fell at his feet as though dead. (Rev. 1:14, 17)
