After a relatively warm and ice-free winter, this week is turning out to be a snow globe!  We don't know yet what will happen on Wednesday, but remember that you can keep an eye here or on the church website for any announcements about cancellations!

What if it snows?

It looks like snow season is going to start in earnest this Friday with a major nor'easter.  If there should be any inclement weather on a Wednesday, you can either check this website or the church website to get notice if activities have been cancelled.

There will be no Bible Quiz Team Practice today, due to the winter weather.  But keep on studying!  We will keep moving onto Acts 24 for next week, and quiz on both chapters.

Bible Verses on Snow

We've had so many days filled with snow this year, it seemed appropriate to do a little mini-study on how the Bible views snow.

Job 37:6 - "For to the snow He says, 'Fall on the earth,' And to the downpour and the rain, 'Be strong.' 

Proverbs 26:1 - Like snow in summer and like rain in harvest, So honor is not fitting for a fool. 

Proverbs 31:21- She is not afraid of the snow for her household, For all her household are clothed with scarlet. 

Job 24:19 - "Drought and heat consume the snow waters, So does Sheol those who have sinned. 

Psalms 148:8 - Fire and hail, snow and clouds; Stormy wind, fulfilling His word;] 

Job 38:22 - "Have you entered the storehouses of the snow, Or have you seen the storehouses of the hail, 

Psalms 147:16 - He gives snow like wool; He scatters the frost like ashes 

Isaiah 55:10-11 - "For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven, And do not return there without watering the earth And making it bear and sprout, And furnishing seed to the sower and bread to the eater; So will My word be which goes forth from My mouth; It will not return to Me empty, Without accomplishing what I desire, And without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it.

Psalms 51:7 - Purify me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; Wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. 

Isaiah 1:18 - "Come now, and let us reason together," Says the LORD, "Though your sins are as scarlet, They will be as white as snow; Though they are red like crimson, They will be like wool.

REMINDER: No Bible Quiz Meet today

Just a reminder that today's Bible Quiz Meet has been cancelled due to the predicted snow.

Due to predictions of another few inches of snow falling at about the worst possible time for our schedule, tomorrow's Bible Quiz Meet has been cancelled.

If you've looked outside today, it probably comes as no shock that Bible Quiz Team Practice is CANCELLED for tonight.  Stay in, stay dry, stay warm!

ALERT: PRACTICE IS CANCELLED DUE TO WEATHER

Unfortunately, due to adverse weather conditions, we will not be having practice tonight.  Enjoy a night off, and let's get going onto Matthew chapter 10 for next week.  Remember, next Saturday is the November Quiz Meet!

ALERT: Practice Cancelled by the Weather

We just got word that the church will be closed tonight due to the inclement weather. Practice is canceled. Please use the extra time to spend some time in God's Word. We'll see you next Wednesday.

So... what next?

Well, Midwinter was cancelled by yesterday's snowstorm. So what does that mean for our schedule going forward?

- We are still doing a review for Wednesday's practice. (All of Hebrews, 1 Peter 1-2)
- Midwinter will not be rescheduled. The scheduling complexity of the various churches involved is too great.
- We are working out dates right now for Quiz Meets in February and March
- Districts will be April 21 in Sparta, NJ

More news to come on Wednesday. For now, have fun in the snow, and keep up your studying!

It's quite the Winter Wonderland out there this morning, and the current weather forecast is calling for the possibility of more on Friday night into Saturday. So what will we do?
