WEEK 31: Review All of Hebrews, 1 Peter, & 2 Peter

This week (April 12 to April 18), please review Hebrews, 1 Peter, & 2 Peter.

Study Tip: This is it. The last week of practice before Districts. Districts is our last quiz meet of the year. It is your last chance to make a difference for your team. Take this week and really try to drive home the material you have missed. If you're weak on too much material to review this week, pick a specific part to focus on: Hebrews, 1 Peter, 2 Peter, Finish-the-Verse questions, References, etc. Do your best to be a competitor at Districts, not just a spectator!

Seating for Districts will be set by scores. Keep your eyes here in the next few days for the "final" Scoreboard.

Study Tip: What is your best strategy for review? There are two ways to approach these weeks: (1) Learn what you missed the first time around, or (2) Cement the stuff you know well by reading it again and quizzing yourself relentlessly. Consider carefully which way is best for you. If you joined late, definitely consider Option 1. It is your chance to catch up to the other quizzers. If you have been here since day 1, strongly consider Option 2. Either way, do your best to be an asset at Districts!

Study Tip: Are you making use of all of the tools available to you as a quizzer? We know everyone has a Bible. Are you also listening to the audio each week? Are you reading thru the commentary? Are you completing the puzzles? And most of all, are you getting your friends and families involved with your studying regimen? If you're not using everything at your disposal, you're probably not getting the best results.

WEEK 20: Review Hebrews & 1 Peter 1-2

This week, please review all chapters studied to date, in preparation for the Midwinter Quiz. This includes:

• Hebrews, All Chapters
• 1 Peter 1
• 1 Peter 2

If you're going to Midwinter and have a lot of catching up to do, focus especially on the last few chapters of Hebrews (Midwinter will be on all of Hebrews). And if you want to specialize, pay special attention to the Reference Questions or Finish-the-Verse Questions lists.

If you have any questions left about Midwinter, here is your mini-summary:

• Departure 3:30 PM on Friday from the church parking lot
• Return Sunday afternoon to the church parking lot
• Bring $18 for your quizzing fee (exact change, if possible)
• Bring money for 3 meals (2 fast-food, 1 Fuddruckers) - $20-$30
• If you want to shop at the Tabernacle Reproduction gift shop or Lancaster Outlets, bring some spending money
• Packing: 1 sleeping bag, 1 pillow, 1 duffle bag for clothes that can fit under your mini-bus seat
• Bring your Quiz Team shirt for Saturday
• Bring clothes appropriate for church on Sunday

We'll see you on Friday! It's going to be a great time!

Study Tip: Have you noticed over time that you come to associate certain places with certain activities? Sports people find themselves automatically putting on their game face as they walk into a gym. Have you considered doing your studying in the same place every day? Study Tip: During the holiday season, it becomes increasingly difficult to stay focused on Quiz Team. Parties, concerts, plays, etc. eat more and more into your daily study time. How do you cope? First, accept the fact that your life will have competing priorities and that sometimes Quiz Team can't be #1. Second, realize that we only HAVE time if we MAKE TIME. Set aside some time every day for studying. Make it the same time, as much as possible, and try to be disciplined. Eventually, study time will become a habit, and something you won't have to work so hard to keep up.
