THIS WEEK: Review Galatians, Chapters1- 6

This week (October 29 thru November 4), please review Galatians, Chapters 1 through 6.

If you want to read the chapter online, click here.

Click here to listen to audio of the chapter.

Study Tip: Are you a morning person or a night owl? Do you find yourself happiest and most focused early in the day, in the middle of it, or late at night when everyone else had gone to bed? Pay attention to these patterns in yourself, and try to study accordingly. If you are a morning person, consider getting up a half hour earlier and studying before school. If you are a night owl, you may want to make your studying the last thing you do before bed. Knowing your own rhythms can be of great help when trying to put God's word into your mind and heart.

THIS WEEK: Review all Chapters of Acts

This week (April 15 thru April 18), please review all chapters of Acts.

This is it!  Districts is in 3 days where we will quiz on all chapters of Acts.  Please check and make sure you have all the study materials you need.  Every things can be found here:  http://quizpad.blogspot.com/search/label/acts

If you are missing anything that you need, please contact the coaches.

Study Tip: At this late stage, you have two choices to excel:  (1) cram, cram, cram and try to learn as much material as possible in the few days left, or (2) pick something you are good at and focus on that for the next few days.  We generally recommend #2.  Choose one thing and be the expert - FTVs, References, Multiple Part Answers, Short Answers, etc.

If you need the materials to review/study any specific chapter, please click on the link below:

Study Tip: It's tempting to use review weeks to sit back and watch TV instead of studying the old material.  But these are key opportunities to solidify your knowledge of sections on which you are weak.  Take a moment to read thru the chapters and identify areas of weakness.  Then find someone to sit with and quiz through those rough spots.

Study Tip:  This is the last week to study.  If you don't know the material by now, you've got a long row to hoe before next Saturday.  So, let's keep this simple.  If you haven't yet, pull out the Finish-The-Verse list and start studying.  Don't worry about getting them word-perfect if memorization isn't your thing.  But these are key verses which will show up repeatedly in the quizzes, and which will have a huge impact on your life afterwards if you put them into your heart.  Invest wisely, my friends.

Upcoming Events:

  • Reduce Interference
  • Space It Out
  • Use Whole and Part Learning

Study Tip:  There aren't that many weeks left of Bible Quizzing for the year - Districts is March 29 - so we'll be facing more review weeks than usual.  Don't waste these times, as these are your "second chances" for past chapters.  We can all use extra review of the names in Romans 16, for one.  And if you feel strong on the other chapters listed here, take the time to find one chapter from the past and focus exclusively on that.  (*COUGH*  Romans 6 *COUGH*)

Reminder:  There is no practice next Wednesday for New Years Day.

Study Tip:  Christmas is behind us and New Years is before us.  This is a good time to pause and reflect on how you have done as a Bible Quizzer in 2013.  What chapters are you strong on?  What chapters are you weak on?  Are you best at keywords, references, finish-the-verse questions? Do you need to set aside more time each week, or are you overdoing it and burning out?  Reflection and honesty can only help you make the changes you need in 2014 to be a better Bible quizzer and a better person, in general!
