The Bible and Election Day

Today is Election Day, when Americans go to the polls to cast votes for our legislators and leaders for the next 2 to 6 years. Have you ever wondered what the Bible has to say about Voting, since it predated our Constitution by 1700 years? OpenBible.Info has collected together a number of verses on government and leadership. Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God. Therefore whoever resists the authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment. For rulers are not a terror to good conduct, but to bad.

My reading of the group? Do your civic duty by both voting. But be aware that it is God who raises up leaders, and we should obey them unless their laws/orders oppose the will of God.
