Let him come down now from the cross, and we will believe in him. 43He trusts in God. Let God rescue him now if he wants him, for he said, 'I am the Son of God.' " 44In the same way the robbers who were crucified with him also heaped insults on him.

45From the sixth hour until the ninth hour darkness came over all the land. 46About the ninth hour Jesus cried out in a loud voice, "Eloi, Eloi,[c] lama sabachthani?"—which means, "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?"[d]
47When some of those standing there heard this, they said, "He's calling Elijah."

48Immediately one of them ran and got a sponge. He filled it with wine vinegar, put it on a stick, and offered it to Jesus to drink. 49The rest said, "Now leave him alone. Let's see if Elijah comes to save him."

50And when Jesus had cried out again in a loud voice, he gave up his spirit.

51At that moment the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. The earth shook and the rocks split. 52The tombs broke open and the bodies of many holy people who had died were raised to life. 53They came out of the tombs, and after Jesus' resurrection they went into the holy city and appeared to many people.

54When the centurion and those with him who were guarding Jesus saw the earthquake and all that had happened, they were terrified, and exclaimed, "Surely he was the Son[e] of God!"

Study Tip: This week we will be studying two chapters - 2 Corinthians 11 & 2 Corinthians 12. This means it is even more important than usual to NOT forget what you learned last week. This Saturday is the much-anticipated annual Home Quiz Meet! Montgommery and Essex Fells will be driving up to Trumbull to see all that we have to offer, and to quiz against the very best of the best of the New England District (that's YOU, if you didn't know). Now that the event is so close, what do you need to know as a quizzer?

1. We're having a Big Sandwich for lunch. Bring $5.
2. Bring 2 large bottles of soda. Feel free to bring Diet or fruit juice, if that is what you drink.
3. Parents and siblings are welcome!
4. If you have one, please wear your Quiz Team T-shirt or Sweatshirt. If not, please wear blue.
5. We will be asking you to come early to help set up. Jim will have the exact time tonight.
6. Be ready to stay afterward to help clean-up, too.

Miniature Bibles can be BIG!

Odds are your 1 and 2 Corinthians scripture portion is the smallest "Bible" you have seen in your life. But the Bible comes in many shapes and sizes these days and in one Indian town the world's smallest Bible is catching the attention of many. But it might be a bit too small for practical use for a Quizzer.

"Today, in a way, we are very particular to see a small sized Bible. It's a unique Bible; this is for the first time that a miniature Bible is being sold at our store. The Bible is nearly one inch in breadth, 1.5 inch in length and 0.6 inch in width. It is so beautiful that it can attract anyone," said Father Joseph Vaniamthara.

The locals find this miniature form of Bible very attractive and find it very useful for their children. But it takes a magnifying glass to read it.

Prayer Request: Lionel's surgery

Lionel is having surgery today for his injury. Please be praying that God is with him and gives him peace and comfort during the procedure, and that the doctor's hands are guided to do everything perfectly. And for a speedy recovery, so we see him back at practice as soon as possible!

Next Saturday (March 27) is our annual quiz meet in Trumbull, CT! It our one home meet of the year, and parents and siblings are invited to cheer the team on.

We're asking each quizzer to bring 2 bottle of soda or juice. We're doing a large sub for lunch. All quizzers should bring $5. Any family members who want to share in the sub should let Jim know by Wednesday and will also owe $5.

Study Tip: We're now in the season of Lent, when Christians celebrate the weeks before Jesus's death on the cross and resurrection from the dead. It is traditional at this time among some Christians to give up something, in order share in some small way with Christ's suffering. If you're still unable to find time to study, perhaps you might choose something to give up for Lent (maybe a favorite TV program) to provide more time to spend in the scriptures.

Study Tip: As we move ahead each week, are you finding yourself forgetting what you learned in the past week? While we DO have some review weeks coming up, they will NOT be before the next Quiz Meet. Bringing your Bible to School?

When I was in high school, I brought my Bible to school all the time - sometimes as a witness, sometimes just as something to read between classes. No one ever gave me a hard time for it. But some students are finding school administrators less than open to it these days.

Nathan de La Garza tells the Racine Journal Times his pastor had challenged him to carry his Bible with him at all times.
It didn't go over well at Park High School, where an assistant principal told him to keep religion discussions out of school.
De La Garza tells the Journal Times the assistant principal was concerned he might offend somebody and entice a physical fight.
