WEEK 12: Study Hebrews 11:1-19
This week (November 25 thru November 30), please study Hebrews, Chapter 11:1-19
If you want to read the chapter online, click here. (Free website Biblegateway.Com)
Listen to the chapter here. (MP3s coming later.)
If you'd like to read a commentary on the chapter, click here. (Free website, ChristNotes.Com)
Study Tip: For some people, the best way to make the Bible a priority in your life is to put it at the start of every day. Rather than waiting for after homework, dinner, or whatever else you normally put before studying, consider setting your alarm 15 minutes earlier in the morning and spending that time reading thru that week's chapter. This can set the tone for your day, and give you a chance to apply the lessons of the chapter in your daily life.
Upcoming Events:
- January 20-22, Midwinter Quiz Meet in Lititz, PA

Reviewing This Week
This will be our first Review Week of the year, where we ask you to go back over existing material rather than learning new stuff. This will allow you to enjoy your Thanksgiving time off, while also solidifying your understanding of the book of Hebrews. Review time should be easier than studying new material, but don't use that as an excuse to slack off! Keeping up the habit of learning is how you stay sharp.

Sports people find themselves automatically putting on their game face as they walk into a gym. Have you considered doing your studying in the same place every day? After a while, your mind will learn to associate that place with focus and concentration, and getting into the zone will be just a little easier.

Study Tip: During the holiday season, it becomes increasingly difficult to stay focused on Quiz Team. Parties, concerts, plays, etc. eat more and more into your daily study time. How do you cope? First, accept the fact that your life will have competing priorities and that sometimes Quiz Team can't be #1. Second, realize that we only HAVE time if we MAKE TIME. Set aside some time every day for studying. Make it the same time, as much as possible, and try to be disciplined. Eventually, study time will become a habit, and something you won't have to work so hard to keep up.

DID YOU KNOW: October 31 is also Reformation Day
Yesterday was not only a day for Trunk or Treat. It was also the day, 494 years ago, that Martin Luther nailed his 95 Theses to the door of the church in Wittenberg and kicked off The Reformation. This is known as Reformation Day and celebrated by many Protestant Christians around the world.
