So... What's Next?

Districts is over, practices for the year are over, so... what is next for Quiz Team in general and this blog in particular?

Well, we still may have one more year-end event (keep a close eye out for any announcements).

In the meantime, we're going to take a month or so off from Bible Quizzing, per se, and just focus some fun. We'll be posting news related to the Bible, good music, comics, jokes, photos, and other interesting tidbits. As always, this site will be updated every day. Then, starting soon, we'll begin getting ready for the 2015-2016 season, where we'll be studying the Books of Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, and Philemon.

But, for now, let's have some fun!

Districts is NEXT!

The March Quiz Meet is over. We've studied our last week of new material in Hebrews, 1 Peter, and 2 Peter. So, what is next?

DISTRICTS!!!

Districts is the last quiz of the year, against all of the churches in the Eastern District. It will be in Sparta, NJ this year, and will be an all-day trip. Lower division will quiz lower division, Upper division will quiz upper division. Get psyched! This is our motivation over the next few weeks, as we review.

What's next?

So, the season is over. What's up next for Trumbull's Bible Quizzing program?

Are there any more practices or quiz meets this year? No.

What books are we studying next year? Hebrews, 1 Peter, and 2 Peter

Are we changing versions next year? No. We'll stay with the New International Version. (The old one, not the 2010 version.)

What should I be doing over the summer? It's up to you. We recommend that you take at least a few weeks off from intensive studying to rest your mind. (Although, we DO NOT recommend that you take time off from reading scripture. :-) Remember, the Bible is God talking to us.) Some quizzers, after a break, try to read thru next years books. Some wait for September.

Will there be updates on QuizPad.Com over the summer? Yes! QuizPad.Com will continue to have updates EVERY DAY over the summer. Keep your eyes here for ongoing bible-related and quizzing-related material.

Next up - NEWS WEEK

Okay, you've had a week to decompress, rest, and relax. Are you ready to get back into it?! What's that? Not yet? Okay, rather than jumping back in with both feet, we'll take this week for NEWS WEEK where we'll see out various news items related to the Bible or the Christian faith. That way, you can start to bring your brain back into shape without pulling a mental muscle.

What now? FUN WEEK!

Nationals is over, all the photos have been posted for your review, and all of the spies have been retired for now. So, what is a quizzer to do?! Well, this week will be dedicated to rest and rejuvenation! Take some time off of Bible quizzing to let your mind be restored before starting to prepare for next year. And enjoy a week of posts that are "just fun".

What about the snow?!

I have gotten a number of inquiries about what we plan to do about the snow storm predicted to begin about 4 AM today and last until this afternoon or evening. Will we have Quiz Team Practice? The answer, so far, is "We do not know." However, this very blog is your best tool to watch for updates. If practice is canceled, we will report it here first. The church website also will announce if the building closes.

So what now?

So, Districts is over, we're home, and life is returning to "normal". The next logical question on your minds is, WHAT NOW?

• Practices are over for the summer.
• If you want to continue studying over the summer, remember that signups for the local and national Bible Bee are due by April 30
• Bible Quizzing will start up for the 2009-2010 season in September
• We will be studying 1 and 2 Corinthians next year.

A question we often get from parents and teens is "Should we be studying for next year over the summer?" While it rarely hurts to try to get a leg up, it is important not to burn yourself out. Even God rested after Creation, so don't be afraid to take a break from Bible Quizzing.
