QUESTION: Will we cancel for snow?

After a relatively warm and ice-free winter, this week is turning out to be a snow globe!  We don't know yet what will happen on Wednesday, but remember that you can keep an eye here or on the church website for any announcements about cancellations!

What if it snows?

It looks like snow season is going to start in earnest this Friday with a major nor'easter.  If there should be any inclement weather on a Wednesday, you can either check this website or the church website to get notice if activities have been cancelled.

There will be no Bible Quiz Team Practice today, due to the winter weather.  But keep on studying!  We will keep moving onto Acts 24 for next week, and quiz on both chapters.

Mother Nature is conspiring against the Monroe Coaches - keeping the snow around until 1 PM, when we said we'd decide at 1 PM - but the forecasters are unified that things will be clear by 6 PM.  See you there!

Practice is ON for tonight!

It's been a week of cancellations and delayed openings.  But you have nothing to worry about for Bible Quiz Team.  We'll be meeting tonight at our usual time.  See you then!

Practices resume tonight.  We're looking forward to seeing all of you at regular time to quiz on Matthew 8 and Matthew 9.

But they are also predicting a storm today, which may include snow.  If the church should be closed and practice cancelled, we will be announcing it here as soon as we know about it.  So, be sure to check back from time to time.

It's quite the Winter Wonderland out there this morning, and the current weather forecast is calling for the possibility of more on Friday night into Saturday. So what will we do? Please also keep in mind that next Saturday is the Trumbull Quiz Meet. We'll be needing help from Quizzers and coaches to make it a success!

Practice cancelled due to the impending snow!

Midwinter Quiz may be over, but we're still in the middle of winter so the snow is still with us. There will be no practice tonight. But please keep studying! We'll be quizzing on both John 13 and John 14 next week.

Snow & the Bible

In this season of falling flakes, it is inevitable that snow is on our minds. So, what does the Bible have to say about snow? You might be surprised how often snow is mentioned, and how varied is its use in scripture.

Snow in reference to Jesus Christ has to do with His glory. Already in the event known as the Transfiguration (Mk 9:3), we read that his garments were shining, exceeding white as snow. In the resurrection story in Matthew 28:3 the appearance of the angel was like lightning and his clothes were white as snow. In the last book of the Bible John sees Jesus in this way: His head and hair were white like wool, as white as snow, and his eyes were like blazing fire. John tells us that when he saw the Lord in all his glory he fell at his feet as though dead. (Rev. 1:14, 17)

Team, We regret to inform you that the Quiz Meet in Montgommery has been cancelled due to the weather. Please use the opportunity to either get some extra sleep, or review Philippians 1-3.

It is now 6 AM and already there is snow on the ground, so it is likely you are wondering the same thing we are: WHAT ABOUT THE QUIZ MEET? Please be watching QuizPad.Com tonight and tomorrow morning. We may make a decision about tomorrow as early as 9 PM tonight, and otherwise a decision WILL be posted AT THE LATEST by 6 AM tomorrow. As we discussed, if you do not have internet access, you can call us AFTER 6 AM tomorrow morning.

The other big news is the new Quiz Shirts are in!. If we have the Quiz Meet tomorrow, you will have the opportunity to buy them then ($13 for t-shirts, $20 for hoodies). Otherwise, we'll have them at practice on Wednesday.
