BIBLE NEWS: "The Story" Wins an Audie

The Bible is old, but there are always new ways to present it. Zondervan's "The Story" has been awarded a prestigious "Audie Award" for its new audiobook adaptation.

Zondervan's bestselling The Story, NIV: The Bible as One Continuing Story of God and His People was honored with a 2012 Audie Award at a ceremony in New York last night. The Audie Awards, hosted by the Audio Publishers Association, are the most prestigious honor in the audio book industry, recognizing the audio books that made the greatest impact over the past year...Recorded in 31 chapters, The Story is a concise, abridged chronology of the Bible that takes the listener through an unfolding progression of vital Bible characters and events from Genesis to Revelation.

Audio Bible wins "Christian Book of the Year"

It is not every year that an AudioBook manages to win an award typically set aside for paper books. But this year The Word of Promise has managed to do so.

The Evangelical Christian Publishers Association (ECPA) announced on Sunday evening, July 13, the six category winners of the 2008 Christian Book Awards and the "Christian Book of the Year" during the International Christian Retail Show (ICRS) in Orlando.
For the first time in the award program's 30-year history, a Bible and an audio product has won the "Christian Book of the Year" honor: The Word of Promise(TM) New Testament Audio Bible (Thomas Nelson) features the talents of actors such as Jim Caviezel ("The Passion of the Christ"), Golden Globe winner Stacy Keach, Academy Award and Golden Globe winner Lou Gossett, Jr., and Academy Award winner Marisa Tomei, in a scripted dramatization of the New King James Version (NKJV) of the New Testament.
